Kindle App 1.17 is useless for all books published in 2023. A registered Kindle is just used as the target device, downloading takes place on the computer. Note that this doesn't mean downloading them to the Kindle. The simplest way is to use the Download and Transfer option on the Amazon Content and Devices page to download the files to your computer. How is the best way to get those books from converted? I've read through many pages of this thread, and I think I'm in the right place for this info, but I can't seem to get it done. Thee problem is the Kindle reader, I know that the current ones will not allow me to download the books from amazon to my laptop, and I've added what appears to be the version formerly recommended - Kindle App 1.17 I've also tried a few others, but none will work on my laptop. I have Calibre on my MacBook (IOS Big Sur 11.1), and have added the various plug ins, and it seems as if I've done everything correctly. I have seen a few websites that detailed this as well as some Youtube videos. I was hoping to be able to use her Kindle through my US amazon account, and then download content from (Japan) from my other account. She reads English (primarily), French (we live just outside Geneva), and Japanese (my wife is Japanese, and my daughter grew up bilingual). I just upgraded my daughter's Kindle (she had one of my ancient ones, a first generation) - today she got a new Paperwhite as a reward for completing her RAZ-Kids reading program (she's a ten year old). newbie to the forum, but kindle owner since the first generation.
